CeraVe Renewing SA Lotion is a specialized skincare product designed to exfoliate and moisturize extremely dry, rough, and bumpy skin. The brand was founded in the United States in 2005 by a team of researchers in collaboration with dermatologists. Their unique formula, which focuses on delivering three essential ceramides through a Multivesicular Emulsion (MVE) technology, revolutionized accessible clinical skincare.

Originally launched as part of Coria Laboratories, the brand was later acquired by Valeant Pharmaceuticals. In 2017, the global cosmetics giant L'Oréal purchased CeraVe, significantly expanding its international distribution. Today, the brand is part of L'Oréal's Dermatological Beauty division. While much of the production remains centered in North America to serve the en-CA and US markets, L'Oréal utilizes its global supply chain to manufacture and distribute CeraVe products in various regions worldwide.
