Lacoste is a historic French lifestyle brand founded in 1933 by tennis champion René Lacoste and André Gillier. The brand is world-renowned for its iconic crocodile logo, which was inspired by René Lacoste's nickname on the tennis court. Originally famous for its revolutionary piqué cotton polo shirts, the brand has expanded into a global fashion house covering footwear, fragrance, leather goods, and high-end sportswear.

While the brand's heart and design origins remain in France, its manufacturing footprint is global to meet scale, with production facilities located in countries such as Turkey, Peru, El Salvador, Thailand, and Vietnam. However, the premium essence of the brand is still tightly controlled by its parent company. Since 2012, Lacoste has been owned by Maus Frères SA, a Swiss family-owned holding company, which acquired the remaining stakes of the company to secure full ownership.
