Rattan Furniture

Rattan refers to a variety of climbing palm species native to the tropical regions of Southeast Asia, Africa, and Australasia. In a commercial context, it is not a single brand but a raw material category used for centuries to produce diverse items ranging from furniture and baskets to kitchenware and structural canes. The majority of the world's raw rattan is sourced from the tropical forests of Southeast Asia, particularly Indonesia, the Philippines, and Malaysia.

Because rattan is a natural resource rather than a trademarked invention of a single corporation, it is produced and manufactured by thousands of different companies globally. While traditional handicraft remains a major part of its ecological footprint, modern furniture brands often incorporate rattan into their designs. Manufacturing primarily occurs in countries where the plant grows naturally, though finishing and distribution are handled by global retail entities.
