Vita-Weat is a long-standing Australian brand of whole-grain crispbreads originally developed by the Arnott’s Biscuits company. Known for being made from 100% whole grains, it has become a staple in Australian pantries as a nutritious snack option. The brand traces its roots back to the Arnott's family, who founded their iconic biscuit business in Newcastle, New South Wales, in 1865.
While the brand remains deeply tied to Australian culture and identity, its ownership has transitioned through several international hands. In 1997, the Arnott's group was fully acquired by the American food giant Campbell Soup Company. However, in 2019, Campbell sold Arnott's (including the Vita-Weat brand) to the global investment firm KKR (Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co.).
Today, Vita-Weat products continue to be manufactured primarily in Australia, supporting local agriculture and industry. The brand is managed under the Arnott's Group umbrella, which remains headquartered in Sydney, despite the ultimate financial ownership residing with the New York-based investment firm KKR.
