Jim Beam is one of the world's best-selling brands of bourbon, with a history dating back to 1795 when founder Johannes Jacob Böhm (later known as Jacob Beam) sold his first barrels of whiskey. Produced primarily at the James B. Beam Distilling Co. in Clermont, Kentucky, the whiskey is aged for four years in newly charred American white oak barrels, which imparts its signature vanilla and caramel profile.

While deeply rooted in American heritage, the brand underwent a significant ownership change in 2014. Beam Inc., the parent company at the time, was acquired by Suntory Holdings Limited, a major Japanese beverage group. This merger formed Beam Suntory, bringing together iconic American bourbon craftsmanship with Japanese expertise in spirits. Today, Jim Beam remains a cornerstone of the Beam Suntory portfolio, maintaining its traditional production methods in Kentucky while benefiting from a global distribution network.
