Lay's Oven Baked Naturel is a line of potato snacks known for their lower fat content compared to traditional fried chips. The Lay's brand was founded in 1932 by Herman W. Lay in Nashville, Tennessee, USA. Initially, Lay operated as a traveling salesman before purchasing the Barrett Food Company in 1938 and renaming it H.W. Lay Lingo & Company.

In 1961, the company merged with the Frito Company to form Frito-Lay, and subsequently merged with Pepsi-Cola in 1965 to create PepsiCo. Today, Lay's is one of the world's most recognizable snack brands. In the Netherlands, where this specific 'Naturel' version is distributed, the product is primarily manufactured locally by PepsiCo Nederland BV. The brand continues to expand its global footprint through localized flavors and healthier alternatives like the Oven Baked range.
