Ritter Sport is a renowned German brand specialized in chocolate bars, famously known for their square shape and practical 'knick-pack' packaging. This specific product is the 'Jamaica Rum' variety, part of their snack or mini-cube collection featuring a hazelnut, raisin, and rum filling encased in milk chocolate.
The brand was founded in 1912 by Alfred E. Ritter and Clara Ritter in Bad Cannstatt, Stuttgart. The iconic square shape was invented in 1932 to fit inside a sport jacket pocket without breaking, lead to the renaming as 'Ritter Sport.' To this day, the company remains a family-owned enterprise, with all production centralized in their main facility in Waldenbuch, Germany. They are known for their commitment to sustainable cocoa sourcing and own one of the world's largest cocoa plantations in Nicaragua.
