The Senior Railcard is a discount travel service originally introduced by British Rail in 1970 to encourage travel among older citizens. It provides a significant discount (typically 1/3) on rail fares across the National Rail network in Great Britain.
Following the privatization of British Rail in the 1990s, the management and branding of Railcards transitioned to ATOC (Association of Train Operating Companies). Today, the brand is operated by Rail Delivery Group (RDG), which represents the various train operating companies, Network Rail, and HS2. While originally a physical paper or plastic card, it is now primarily issued as a digital product via a mobile application, developed and maintained within the United Kingdom to serve the domestic transport infrastructure.
