Löwensenf is an iconic German brand of mustard that originated in Düsseldorf in 1903. Founded by Otto and Frieda Lentz, the brand became famous for its 'Extra Sharp' variety, which pioneered the use of only natural ingredients following the purity law for mustard. The Bio Dijon variant shown here is part of their organic range, adhering to both the traditional Dijon method of production and organic farming standards.

While the brand is deeply rooted in Düsseldorf's culinary history, it is no longer an independent family business. Since 2001, Löwensenf has been a part of the Develey Senf & Feinkost group. Despite the corporate ownership, production remains primarily centralized in Germany, maintaining the brand's heritage as a staple of German kitchen tables.
