The brand specializes in dairy products including cheeses, yogurts, and milk. Hirtenkäse (Shepherd's cheese) is a German-style brined cheese, often made from cow's milk to resemble traditional Greek feta.

Because Milfina is an ALDI-owned house brand, it is typically manufactured by third-party dairy processors across Europe, with the majority of products for the German and neighboring markets being produced within Germany. ALDI is split into two independent companies, ALDI Nord and ALDI Süd; Milfina is a core brand for ALDI Süd.
