Orbea is a premier Spanish bicycle manufacturer with a rich history dating back to 1840. Originally founded as a rifle and gun producer in Eibar, Basque Country, the company pivoted to bicycle manufacturing in 1930. The brand is renowned for its high-performance road, mountain, and electric bikes, frequently featured in elite professional competitions.

A unique aspect of Orbea is its corporate structure; it operates as a worker-owned cooperative. In 1969, facing financial hardship, the employees purchased the company to form a cooperative, which later became part of the Mondragon Corporation. Today, while some manufacturing and carbon frame sourcing occur in Asia and Portugal to meet global demand, the brand maintains its heart and its primary assembly and high-end paint facilities in Mallabia, Spain.
