Florio is a historic Italian brand established in 1833 by Vincenzo Florio in Marsala, Sicily. The brand is synonymous with the production of Marsala wine, a fortified wine that gained international fame for its unique aging process and rich flavor profile. This specific bottle, Vecchioflorio Marsala Superiore, is aged for at least 24 months in oak casks in the historic cellars of Marsala, ensuring the traditional quality of the Denominazione di Origine Controllata (DOC) status.
Today, Florio is part of the Duca di Salaparuta Group, which was acquired by the Italian beverage giant ILLVA Saronno Holding S.p.A. (famous for Disaronno) in the early 2000s. The manufacturing remains rooted in Sicily, Italy, maintaining the heritage and expertise of the Florio family while benefiting from the global distribution network of ILLVA Saronno. The brand continues to be a premium representative of Italian viticulture and fortified spirits.
