Originally developed by SDI Technologies, a company born out of the 1950s and formerly known as Soundesign, iHome became a powerhouse in the mid-2000s by specializing in clock radios and audio peripherals specifically for Apple products.

The brand is currently owned by SDI Technologies, which remains headquartered in New Jersey, USA. While the product design and engineering are managed within the United States, the manufacturing is outsourced to China to leverage high-volume production capabilities for electronics hardware.
