Saviem (Société Anonyme de Véhicules Industriels et d'Équipements Mécaniques) was a flagship French manufacturer of commercial vehicles established in 1955. The brand was formed through the merger of the truck and bus operations of several companies, most notably Renault, Latil, and Somua. Based in Suresnes and Blainville-sur-Orne, Saviem became synonymous with robust logistics and transport solutions in post-war Europe.

Throughout the 1970s, Saviem participated in the 'Club of Four' consortium alongside Volvo, DAF, and Magirus-Deutz to develop shared cab designs. In 1978, Saviem merged with its rival Berliet to form Renault Véhicules Industriels (RVI). This consolidation led to the eventual phase-out of the Saviem brand in favor of the Renault name by 1980.

Today, the legacy of Saviem lives on through Renault Trucks. While the original Saviem company no longer exists as an independent entity, its historical assets and intellectual property are owned by the Volvo Group, which acquired Renault Trucks in the early 21st century. The brand remains an important chapter in the history of French industrial engineering and heavy manufacturing.
