The brand name is famously derived from the words "Light" and "Orchestra," reflecting a vision of vibrant and harmonious design.

While the brand has deep Japanese roots and uses Seiko's proprietary watchmaking technology and movements, the physical manufacturing of Lorus watches primarily takes place in Seiko's various production facilities across Asia, notably in China and other Southeast Asian regions, to maintain cost-efficiency while ensuring strict quality control.
