Odlo is a premium performance brand specializing in sports clothing and functional base layers. Founded in 1946 by Odd Roar Lofterød Senior in Norway, the brand originally gained fame for its elastic, heat-regulating suits for speed skaters and cross-country skiers. This legacy of innovation led to the development of the 'Athletic 3-Layer Principle,' which has become a standard in outdoor dressing.
While the brand has Norwegian roots, it moved its headquarters to Hünenberg, Switzerland, in 1986 to better serve international markets. Today, Odlo maintains a highly transparent supply chain. A significant portion of its production occurs in its own factories in Portugal and Romania, though it also sources from partner manufacturers in Vietnam, China, and Sri Lanka to fulfill its diverse global demand. In 2020, Odlo was acquired by Monte Rosa Capital, a family-backed investment firm focused on long-term growth for European brands.
