Champion, a cornerstone of American athletic apparel, was originally founded in 1919 by the Feinbloom brothers in Rochester, New York. The brand gained historical significance by inventing the Reverse Weave sweatshirt and supplying uniforms for the NFL and the 1992 Olympic Dream Team.

Today, the 'Rochester' collection pays homage to these heritage roots, featuring vintage-inspired designs and the iconic 'C' logo. While the brand originated in the United States, its manufacturing footprint is global, with production facilities spread across Asia, Central America, and Europe to serve different regional markets.

In a landmark shift for the brand's history, Hanesbrands Inc. sold the global Champion business to Authentic Brands Group (ABG) in 2024. Under this new ownership, the brand is managed by a network of regional partners, such as the Orbico Group in parts of Europe, while the intellectual property is centrally held in the United States.
