Marabou is a chocolate brand originally founded in Sweden in 1916 by Johan Throne Holst. Its history is tied to the Norwegian chocolatier Freia. The brand became a staple of Swedish culture and expanded significantly throughout the 20th century.

Today, the brand is owned by Mondelēz International, an American multinational confectionery, food, and beverage conglomerate. While the brand carries deep Swedish heritage and its main production facility remains in Upplands Väsby, Sweden, the ultimate ownership and global supply chain are managed by the parent company headquartered in the United States. Marabou products use sustainably sourced cocoa through the Cocoa Life program.
