Prince is one of Denmark's most iconic cigarette brands, originally introduced in 1957 by Chr. Augustine's Fabrikker. Known for its distinct flavor profile, the 'Prince Rød' (Prince Red) variant remains a staple in the Scandinavian tobacco market.
Over the decades, ownership shifted from local Danish production to international conglomerates. Following a series of mergers involving the Scandinavian Tobacco Group, the brand was eventually acquired by British American Tobacco (BAT). While originating in Copenhagen, modern production is centralized in large-scale European facilities, notably in Poland, to supply the Nordic markets. Today, Prince is a key international brand within BAT's diverse global portfolio.
