Melitta is a world-renowned coffee brand with a heritage dating back to 1908 in Germany, when Melitta Bentz revolutionized the industry by inventing the paper coffee filter. Since entering the Brazilian market in 1968, the brand has become a household name, particularly for its 'Tradicional' line which is tailored to the local palate.

Today, Melitta remains a family-owned enterprise under the Melitta Group (Melitta Unternehmensgruppe Bentz KG). While the brand is German in origin, its Brazilian operations are highly localized. The Melitta Tradicional Coffee sold in Brazil is primarily manufactured in the country using Brazilian-grown beans and processed in dedicated local facilities like those in Avaré and Varginha.
