Isla Délice is a pioneering brand in the European halal food sector, established in 1990 as the first brand in France to provide a comprehensive range of halal-certified charcuterie and cold cuts. Over the decades, it has expanded its catalog to include frozen products such as burgers, nuggets, and ready-to-eat meals, becoming a market leader in the French halal grocery segment.
The brand's production is deeply rooted in France, where it operates dedicated manufacturing facilities and follows rigorous certification standards to ensure adherence to halal dietary laws. This local production strategy has allowed the brand to maintain high quality and freshness while catering to the large Muslim population in Western Europe.
While the brand was founded by Jean-Daniel Hertzog under the Zaphir company, its ownership transitioned to private equity firms to support international scaling. Since 2018, the brand has been under the majority ownership of Perwyn, a family-backed private equity firm headquartered in the United Kingdom. Despite the change in capital ownership, the brand continues to operates through its headquarters in France, maintaining its status as a cornerstone of the European halal market.
