Karhu is a classic Finnish lager brand that was first brewed in 1929 by the Pori Brewery. Named after the Finnish word for "bear," the brand has become one of Finland's most recognizable beer labels, known for its bold flavor profile and iconic bear logo.
Today, Karhu is produced by Sinebrychoff, the oldest brewery in the Nordic countries, located in Kerava, Finland. Since 1999, Sinebrychoff has been a subsidiary of the Danish brewing giant Carlsberg Group. While the brand maintains its Finnish heritage and brewing traditions, it is ultimately owned by Carlsberg, which manages it as a core part of its Nordic market portfolio.
