Sidi is an iconic Italian brand established in 1960 by Dino Signori. Initially starting as a workshop for trekking and mountain climbing footwear, the company transitioned its focus in the 1970s to specialize in cycling and motorcycling boots. Since then, Sidi has become one of the most respected names in professional cycling, known for its high-performance shoes used by numerous world champions.
While the brand maintains deep roots in Italian craftsmanship, its manufacturing operations are split between Italy and Romania. The high-end, custom professional models are often handcrafted in Italy, while larger-scale production occurs in its dedicated Romanian facilities. In late 2022, the brand underwent a significant ownership change as part of a global expansion strategy.
Today, Sidi is owned by the investment firm Italmobiliare, which acquired the company to preserve its heritage while modernizing its business operations. The brand continues to lead the market through innovation in technical features like specialized closure systems and carbon composite soles, ensuring its place at the top of the competitive cycling industry.
