Bane NOR Railway Network Services

Bane NOR is the state-owned agency responsible for the Norwegian national railway infrastructure. Established in 2017 as part of a significant railway reform, it took over the responsibilities of the former Jernbaneverket. The organization manages thousands of kilometers of tracks, bridges, tunnels, and stations across Norway, including historic lines like the Dovre Line, Bergen Line, and Sorland Line.

As a government-owned enterprise, Bane NOR operates under the oversight of the Norwegian Ministry of Transport. Its primary role involves the planning, development, and maintenance of the rail network, while also managing traffic and distributing track capacity to various passenger and freight train operators.
