Dairy Farmers Lite White milk

Dairy Farmers is one of Australia's most enduring and iconic dairy brands, originally established in 1900 as the Dairy Farmers Co-operative Milk Company. For over a century, the brand was operated as a co-operative owned by the very farmers who supplied the milk, primarily in New South Wales and Queensland. The brand became a symbol of local agriculture and community-driven industry.

In 2008, the brand transitioned from its co-operative roots when it was acquired by the Japanese beverage giant Kirin Holdings. Under Kirin's ownership, it became part of the Lion Dairy & Drinks portfolio. This period saw the brand move into international corporate hands, although the manufacturing remained firmly rooted in Australian facilities and utilized milk from Australian farms.

A significant turning point occurred in early 2021 when Bega Cheese Limited (now the Bega Group) completed its acquisition of Lion Dairy & Drinks. This multi-million dollar deal effectively brought Dairy Farmers and several other iconic labels back under Australian ownership. Today, the brand is part of a 100% Australian-owned and ASX-listed company, continuing to source its fresh milk from local Australian dairy families and processing it in domestic facilities such as the Penrith site in New South Wales.
