The Bialetti Moka Timer is a modern, electric evolution of the classic Italian stovetop espresso maker. It was created by the Bialetti company, founded by Alfonso Bialetti in 1919. The brand became a global icon in the 1930s with the invention of the Moka Express, characterized by its unique octagonal design and the 'L'Omino con i baffi' (The Little Man with the Mustache) mascot.
While the original stovetop pots were famously made in Italy, production for many modern electric models and certain components has shifted to Eastern Europe, particularly Romania, to manage costs while maintaining European engineering standards. Bialetti Industrie S.p.A. remains the parent company, managing the brand's legacy as a leader in coffee culture and household appliances from its headquarters in Italy.
