Saclà, formally known as F.lli Saclà S.p.A., is a historic Italian food company founded in 1939 in Asti, Piedmont. Established by Secondo Ercole and his wife Piera Campanella, the brand initially focused on preserving the vegetable surpluses of the fertile Tanaro Valley. Over the decades, it evolved from a local canning operation into a global leader in the production of authentic Italian sauces and antipasti.
Today, the brand is world-renowned for its extensive range of pesto, pasta sauces, and marinated vegetables. The manufacturing remains deeply rooted in its original territory, with primary production facilities still located in Asti. The company is particularly recognized for its commitment to traditional recipes and high-quality ingredients, which has allowed it to maintain a prestigious reputation in the international specialty food market.
Remarkably, Saclà remains a family-owned enterprise, currently managed by the founder's granddaughter, Chiara Ercole. Unlike many historic Italian brands that have been absorbed by large multinational conglomerates, Saclà has maintained its independence. In 2024, the company further solidified its modern brand values by becoming a certified B Corp, emphasizing their focus on environmental sustainability and social performance while continuing to export the 'Made in Italy' culinary tradition to over 60 countries.
