Bally is one of Switzerland's oldest and most prestigious luxury brands, founded in 1851 as a family-run ribbon making workshop that transitioned into a world-renowned pioneer of shoemaking. Over more than 170 years, the brand has built a global reputation for blending artisan craftsmanship with modern innovation. While the brand originated in Schönenwerd, Switzerland, the majority of its high-end leather production now takes place in Italy to leverage the region's specialized luxury manufacturing hubs.

Ownership of the brand has changed several times over the decades. In early 2024, the brand underwent a significant transition when the American investment firm Regent LP reached an agreement to acquire the company from the German conglomerate JAB Holding Company. This move places Bally within a portfolio focused on revitalizing heritage brands through strategic long-term growth and operational focus.
