Söhnlein Brillant is one of Germany's most established sparkling wine brands, with a heritage dating back to its founding by Johann Jacob Söhnlein in 1864 in Schierstein am Rhein. The brand became famous for being the first German sparkling wine produced using the traditional 'méthode champenoise'. In the modern era, Söhnlein Brillant is produced primarily in Germany and is a key player in the affordable sparkling wine market.
In 1987, the Söhnlein Rheingold Sektkellerei merged with Henkell & Co., forming what is now a global powerhouse in the sparkling wine industry. The brand is currently owned by Henkell Freixenet, which is a subsidiary of the Dr. August Oetker KG conglomerate. This ownership combines German sparkling wine tradition with one of the most successful family businesses in Europe, ensuring broad international distribution.
