Kotsovolos is Greece's leading retail chain specializing in consumer electronics and home appliances. Originally founded in 1950 as a small neighborhood store in Athens, the brand grew into a national powerhouse, becoming synonymous with household technology in the Greek market. For over two decades under the ownership of Dixons Carphone (now Currys plc), the retailer integrated international logistics and service standards while maintaining its local Greek identity.

In a significant shift in ownership that concluded in early 2024, Kotsovolos was acquired by Public Power Corporation (PPC) S.A. (DEI), the largest power supplier in Greece. This acquisition represents a strategic move to integrate energy services with high-tech consumer hardware. While the retail products sold by Kotsovolos—ranging from smartphones to major appliances—are manufactured globally by various third-party brands like Samsung, LG, and Sony, the brand itself is now a key asset of the Greek energy sector and continues its operations from its headquarters in Athens.
