Den Gamle Fabrik (The Old Factory) is a renowned Danish brand specializing in fruit spreads and preserves. Founded in 1834 by J.L. Andersen, the brand built its reputation on traditional artisanal methods, cooking fruit in open kettles to preserve texture and flavor.
Today, the brand is a staple in Scandinavian households and is widely exported across Europe, including Germany where it is marketed as a high-quality 'Fruchtaufstrich'. Since 2011, Den Gamle Fabrik has been part of the Norwegian conglomerate Orkla ASA, specifically within the Orkla Foods division. While it remains a quintessentially Danish brand with its main manufacturing based in Denmark, its ownership and distribution network is managed as part of one of Northern Europe's largest consumer goods portfolios.
