Hollister Co., often referred to simply as Hollister, is an iconic American lifestyle brand that was launched in July 2000. Originally conceived to target a younger demographic (teens aged 14–18), the brand utilizes a Southern California surf-inspired aesthetic, famously marketing itself through a fictionalized history as a heritage brand established in 1922.
While the brand's identity is deeply rooted in California beach culture, its manufacturing operations are global. Production primarily occurs in several countries across Asia and Central America, including China, Vietnam, India, and Guatemala. This distributed manufacturing model allows the brand to maintain high production volumes for its global retail footprint.
Hollister is a wholly owned subsidiary of Abercrombie & Fitch Co. Growth of the brand eventually led to it surpassing the parent company's original namesake brand in total sales. Today, Hollister remains headquartered in New Albany, Ohio, and continues to operate as a major global player in the retail fashion industry under the corporate umbrella of Abercrombie & Fitch Co.
