Deno Runtime

Deno is a modern, secure runtime for JavaScript and TypeScript that was created by Ryan Dahl, the original developer of Node.js. It was designed to address perceived shortcomings in Node.js, focusing specifically on security, built-in tooling, and first-class TypeScript support. Unlike its predecessor, Deno uses a secure-by-default model where code cannot access the network, file system, or environment variables without explicit permission.

The project is managed by the Deno Land Inc. company and is supported by a large community of open-source contributors. The runtime is built using Rust and the V8 JavaScript engine.
