Bis is one of the most iconic chocolate-wafer products in the Brazilian market. Originally created by the Lacta company in 1942, it became famous for its bite-sized, tray-packaged format and its tagline suggesting it's impossible to eat just one. The brand's origin is tied to Curitiba, Brazil, where Lacta had significant historic manufacturing operations.
Over the decades, through a series of corporate acquisitions, the ownership of Bis has shifted from the family-founded Lacta to international food giants. Today, Bis is a flagship brand of Mondelez International, which acquired Lacta's former parent company, Kraft Foods. The product remains a staple of Brazilian confectionery culture and is primarily manufactured in Brazil for the local market and export to neighboring regions.
