Elovena is one of Finland's most recognized and beloved food brands, established in 1925. The brand was originally created by the company Karjalan Mylly, and its name is derived from the Latin word 'Eleusine' and the Finnish word 'elo' (life/grain), often associated with the iconic 'Elovena girl' symbol representing health and natural goodness.
The product range is primarily focused on oat-based nutrition, including traditional oatmeal, bars, and modern plant-based yogurt alternatives (kaura-välipala). A significant portion of Elovena's production remains in Finland, utilizing Finnish oats grown by local farmers. The manufacturing process centers on the Raisio production facilities, which have transitioned to carbon-neutral energy sources to align with modern sustainability goals.
Today, Elovena is owned by the Raisio Group, a Finnish public limited company specialized in healthy, plant-based food. Raisio has expanded the Elovena brand internationally, particularly into European markets, while maintaining its heritage as a staple of Finnish agricultural industry and a pioneer in cholesterol-lowering and heart-healthy oat products.
