Frontline is a globally recognized brand in pet care, specializing in antiparasitic treatments. The brand was originally developed by Merial, a multinational animal health company founded in France. Merial was a joint venture between Merck & Co. and Rhône-Poulenc (which later became part of Sanofi).
In 2017, as part of a significant asset swap, Boehringer Ingelheim acquired Merial from Sanofi, making Frontline part of the Boehringer Ingelheim Animal Health portfolio. Today, the product is manufactured primarily in France at large-scale facilities dedicated to veterinary medicine, though global distribution often involves local subsidiaries. The specific 'Combo' formulation shown here is designed to target both adult fleas and their eggs/larvae, representing one of the many innovations the brand has introduced to the veterinary market since its inception in the 1990s.
