Cicho is a popular brand within the regional Balkan market, specifically recognized for its wide range of seasonings, spices, and culinary additives. The brand has built its reputation on providing essential kitchen staples like paprika, which is a foundational ingredient in Central and Eastern European cuisine.
The brand is part of the extensive portfolio of the Centroproizvod company, which was originally a state-owned powerhouse in the former Yugoslavia. Over the decades, the manufacturing processes have been modernized to meet international food safety standards while maintaining the traditional flavor profiles that consumers in the region expect.
Starting in 2011, the ownership transitioned when the global food and beverage giant Nestlé acquired Centroproizvod. This acquisition integrated local heritage brands like Cicho into Nestlé's massive distribution network. Today, while the heritage remains Serbian, the ultimate oversight and ownership reside with Nestlé's headquarters in Switzerland, ensuring the brand benefits from global R&D and supply chain efficiencies.
