Remia Curry Ketchup is a quintessential Dutch condiment known for its sweet, spicy, and savory profile. Originally founded in 1925 by Arie de Rooij in his garage in Amersfoort, Remia began as a margarine mixing plant before expanding into the sauces that made it a household name. The 'Curry Gewürz' style ketchup is particularly popular in the Benelux region and Germany, often served with snacks like frikandel or fries.
The product is primarily manufactured at Remia's state-of-the-art production facility in Den Dolder, Netherlands. To this day, Remia remains an independent family-owned business, which is a rarity in the global food industry dominated by large conglomerates. This independence allows the brand to maintain its traditional recipes and local character while exporting to over 100 countries worldwide.
