Lipton Ice Tea is a globally recognized beverage brand specializing in ready-to-drink tea products. Originally founded in Scotland by Sir Thomas Lipton in the late 19th century, the brand became a pioneer in making tea accessible and affordable. The Strawberry (Erdbeere) flavor shown in the image is a popular iteration tailored for various markets, including Europe and Asia.
From an ownership perspective, the brand has traditionally been a joint venture between Unilever and PepsiCo, known as the Pepsi Lipton Tea Partnership. However, in 2022, Unilever sold the majority of its tea business (Ekaterra) to CVC Capital Partners. As of 2026, the Lipton brand remains under the stewardship of the Pepsi Lipton Tea Partnership for ready-to-drink bottled beverages, while the dry tea leaf business is managed by Liptea (formerly Ekaterra). Manufacturing occurs across multiple countries to serve local markets, with significant bottling operations in the EU and North America.
