Patak's is a renowned brand specializing in Indian-style cuisine products, founded in 1958 by Laxmishanker Pathak in London. The brand began as a small family business supplying authentic Indian ingredients and sweets to the immigrant community in the United Kingdom. Over the decades, it evolved into a global leader in the convenience ethnic food market, particularly famous for its curry pastes, pickles, and simmer sauces like the Korma sauce seen here.
While the brand has deep heritage roots in India, its commercial origin and primary production hub are located in the United Kingdom. Patak's continues to manufacture its product range in the UK, primarily at its facility in Leigh, Greater Manchester. In 2007, the family-owned business was acquired by the multinational conglomerate Associated British Foods (ABF), which integrated the brand into its AB World Foods division. This acquisition allowed Patak's to leverage a global distribution network while maintaining its traditional spice-blending techniques.
