Design Letters is a Danish design company founded in 2009 by Mette Thomsen. The brand initially gained global fame for its stationary and home decor lines that integrated typography as a central aesthetic element. A significant milestone for the company occurred in 2011 when it was granted the rights to use the iconic hand-drawn alphabet designed in 1937 by the world-renowned Danish architect Arne Jacobsen. This fusion of historical high-design and modern lifestyle functionalism propelled the brand into premium boutiques worldwide.

Manufacturing and Ownership

Design Letters products are developed in Denmark with a focus on Scandinavian minimalism. Manufacturing is conducted across multiple specialized locations globally to ensure high standards for materials such as fine bone china, stainless steel, and BPA-free plastics. While the creative direction and headquarters remain firmly in Copenhagen, the brand's distribution spans across more than 40 countries through high-end retailers.
