Arnott's Salada is a staple of Australian snacking culture, originally launched in 1952 by the Brockhoff biscuit company in Melbourne. Following the merger of several regional bakers into the Arnott's group during the 1960s, Salada became one of the brand's most recognizable products, famous for its 'man-size, snack-size, bite-size' versatility facilitated by its perforated design.
While the brand maintains its deep Australian heritage and identity, its ownership has transitioned through several international hands. After being owned by the American Campbell Soup Company for over two decades starting in 1997, the Arnott's Group was acquired in 2019 by Kohlberg Kravis Roberts (KKR), a major American global investment firm. Despite this American ownership, the product continues to be manufactured in Australia, primarily at the Huntingwood facility in Western Sydney, using local ingredients like Australian wheat.
