Originally created by Bernard Lengellé, the brand was acquired by Laboratoires Vendôme, which was subsequently bought by the American multinational Johnson & Johnson in 2006. In 2023, Johnson & Johnson spun off its consumer health division into a new independent company called Kenvue. Consequently, Le Petit Marseillais is now under the ownership of Kenvue. While the brand maintains its French heritage and design, its manufacturing occurs across several European facilities, notably in Italy, to supply the global market.
