Timothy Taylor’s Boltmaker is a classic Yorkshire Bitter brewed by Timothy Taylor & Co. Limited. Originally known as Best Bitter, the beer was renamed Boltmaker in 2012 to pay homage to the trades of the local area near the brewery. It gained significant international recognition when it was crowned the Supreme Champion Beer of Britain in 2014.
The product is brewed at the historic Knowle Spring Brewery in Keighley, West Yorkshire. The brewery has remained independent and family-owned since its inception in 1858, utilizing a unique strain of yeast and spring water from its own artesian well to maintain a consistent brand profile for over 160 years.
Unlike many British heritage beer brands that have been acquired by multinational conglomerates, Timothy Taylor's remains a family-owned enterprise. The company is currently managed by the descendants of the founder and continue to operate as an independent regional brewery, distributing across the UK and internationally.
