Sandeman is a world-renowned brand specializing in Sherry and Port wines. Founded in London in 1790 by George Sandeman, the company quickly became a leader in the wine trade. The iconic logo, 'The Don'—a dark silhouette wearing a Spanish caballero's hat and a Portuguese student's cape—was created in 1928, symbolizing the brand's dual heritage.
Today, the Sherry is produced in the 'Sherry Triangle' region of Andalusia, Spain, specifically in Jerez de la Frontera. While the brand has British roots, its liquid heart is firmly Spanish and Portuguese. Since 2002, the brand has been owned by Sogrape, a family-owned Portuguese beverage giant that has expanded its global reach while maintaining the traditional 'solera' aging methods that define high-quality Sherry production.
