Staub is a world-renowned brand synonymous with high-end culinary tools. While founded in the Alsace region of France, the brand's production strategy varies by material. Their signature enameled cast iron products are famously still manufactured in France to maintain traditional standards. However, the Staub Ceramic (Céramique) line is primarily designed in France but manufactured in China.
The brand was established in 1974 by Francis Staub and quickly became a favorite among professional chefs. Its growth led to its acquisition in 2008 by the Zwilling J.A. Henckels Group, a major German kitchenware conglomerate. This ownership has allowed Staub to expand its global distribution while maintaining a focus on high-performance stoneware that is freezer, oven, and dishwasher safe.
