Flora is a globally recognized brand of margarine and vegetable fat spreads. Originally launched by Unilever in the United Kingdom in 1964, it was created as a heart-health-conscious alternative to butter. The brand has a rich history of promoting plant-based diets and sustainable sourcing, particularly through its use of sunflower and rapeseed oils.

In 2018, Unilever sold its spreads division to KKR, a private equity firm, which subsequently formed Upfield. Today, Upfield is the world's leading producer of plant-based spreads and owns other household names like Becel and Rama. While the brand has British and Dutch roots, manufacturing occurs in various facilities across Europe and the globe to serve local markets. In Greece, for instance, the product is distributed by Flora Food Greece, a subsidiary of the Upfield Group.
