Marabou is a legendary Swedish chocolate brand with roots dating back to its establishment in Sundbyberg in 1916. Originally founded by the Norwegian chocolatier Johan Throne Holst—who also established the Freia brand—it has become a national icon in Sweden, famous for its smooth milk chocolate.

Today, the brand is owned by the American multinational conglomerate Mondelez International. While the primary chocolate production still largely occurs at the factory in Upplands Väsby, Sweden, the specialized bakery products and snack cakes like the Choco Muffin Cake are often produced across Mondelez's extensive European manufacturing network to meet regional demand. Despite its international ownership, Marabou maintains a strong Swedish identity and continues to be one of the most recognizable Nordic snack brands.
