IONITY is a leading high-power charging network for electric vehicles, specifically designed to facilitate long-distance travel across Europe. Established in 2017, the brand provides high-speed charging infrastructure that can deliver up to 350 kW, significantly reducing the time required to charge an EV. The network is known for its distinctive sleek hardware and widespread presence along major European highways.

While the charging service itself is an intangible utility, the hardware—the charging stations—is manufactured by various specialist engineering partners across different countries, often including European industrial leaders like ABB, Tritium, and Alpitronic. IONITY serves as the brand and service operator but relies on an international supply chain for its physical infrastructure.

Ownership of IONITY is structured as a joint venture among some of the world's largest automotive groups. It was originally founded by BMW Group, Daimler AG, Ford Motor Company, and the Volkswagen Group (including Audi and Porsche). Over time, the ownership structure has expanded to include the Hyundai Motor Group and the financial investment firm BlackRock. This collaborative ownership model ensures the network remains interoperable and accessible to a wide variety of electric vehicle brands across the continent.
