Rodilla is an iconic Spanish gastronomic brand established in 1939 by Antonio Rodilla. Its story began in Madrid's Plaza de Callao, where the founder revolutionized the local food scene by introducing soft bread sandwiches (sándwiches de pan de molde) to the Spanish public. This innovation laid the groundwork for what would become a staple of Madrid’s culinary culture, famously known for its unique fillings and high-quality artisanal preparation centers.
Over the decades, the brand transitioned from a single sandwich shop into a major quick-service franchise network. Since 2012, Rodilla has been fully integrated into the Damm Group, one of Spain’s largest beverage and food conglomerates. This acquisition allowed for international expansion and modernized manufacturing processes, though production remains primarily centered in Spain to maintain the brand’s local identity and freshness standards.
